Wedding photographer pricing in 2026 is not what it was in 2019. Costs are up, delivery expectations are up, and couples are researching pricing before they ever inquire. If your packages haven't moved in two years, you're actively making less money per hour worked.
The three-tier package structure that works
- Entry: six hours, single shooter, gallery delivery. Publicly listed as your "starting at."
- Signature: eight hours, second shooter, engagement session, album credit. Your intended sell.
- Legacy: ten hours, second shooter, engagement, album, print credit. The premium anchor that makes signature look reasonable.
How to price the entry package
Take your true cost per wedding — travel, gear, editing, taxes, insurance, overhead — multiply by your target margin, and add your desired take-home per wedding. That is your floor, not your target. Most photographers we coach discover their real floor is 40–60% higher than what they're publishing.
When to raise pricing
- Every time you cross a booked-percentage milestone (25%, 50%, 75% of season).
- Every calendar year, minimum.
- After any major recognition — publication, award, planner referral streak.
Pair pricing with confidence
A raised price the vendor is scared to say out loud converts worse than the old price. That's why our coaching methodology spends the first month rebuilding the sales conversation before touching the number.
