Wedding planner income is wildly uneven, and the spread has almost nothing to do with talent. It comes down to package price, weddings per year, and how much of the work is delegated.
Realistic ranges
- Month-of / coordination: $1,200–$3,500 per wedding.
- Partial planning: $3,500–$7,500.
- Full-service: $7,500–$25,000+ in luxury markets.
A solo planner doing 18 partial-planning weddings at $5,000 grosses $90,000. The same planner at $8,500 with two associate coordinators handling execution can clear well past $200,000 on similar volume.
The three levers that move income
- Average package. A $2,000 raise across 18 weddings is $36,000.
- Close rate. Fixing follow-up often adds three to five weddings a year.
- Delegation. Associates let you sell full-service without working every Saturday.
What actually caps most planners
Not demand — capacity and pricing. Both are fixable in one season with tighter packages, a client management system, and the scaling sequence in how to scale a wedding vendor business.
